About me

Hello I'm Nicky. Stuck? and don't know how to change things? I can help. I believe life can be challenging  and sometimes it is really difficult to work through, leaving us feeling sad, overwhelmed and disconnected from life and ourselves. If this feels like where you are, contact me and let's see what we can do to help change it.

I was a lawyer for 25 years and am an adoptee, so I do understand personally the complexity of the modern world; working pressures and relationships. My aim is to give you a safe space, so that you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace, free from judgement and in confidentiality. If you feel ready, drop me a line or give me a call.

Beginning therapy is a brave, which is why I offer an initial 50 minute consultation to ensure that we are a good fit and to address any concerns you may have. Why don't we book that first session? (you can book one on here) or if those times dont work for you feel free to email or text me. Similarly I can answer any questions (the details are provided) if you are more comfortable with that.

I can assist with a wide range of issues, such as abuse, anxiety, depression, menopause, birth trauma, bereavement, substance abuse, neurodiversity (including ADHD), relationship conflicts and breakdowns, eating disorders, burnout, and mood disorders and I have personal experience in adoption, work/life stress, parenting issues and dealing with neurodiversity. If you believe I can be of help, contact me.

My approach is integrative, meaning that I use CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Humanistic skills to tailor a unique plan that best suits your needs and budget. Every individual is different, and therapy should reflect this. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies (a level 7 qualification), a professional practice certificate   :psychotherapist 1 and 2 (level 7) and a Certificate of Professional Practice Qualified Counsellor 3 (level 7)

I am a member of BACP.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
