Dip HE. Couns. MBACP Registered Psychotherapist

About me

Hello, I’m Nicholas.

I am an anxiety, depression and trauma therapist with a deep understanding of addiction, ADHD, GAD, low self esteem and low self worth with personal experiences of these issues. These lived experiences allow me to connect with deep empathy and offer you meaningful support on your healing journey.

I am fully qualified and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their code of ethics. I have an advanced DBS and I provide a safe, compassionate space, either face-to-face, online, telephone and home visits - where you can explore your emotions, behaviours, and patterns without fear of judgement.

As a Person Centered Therapist I believe that you are expert on your own life and I am here to gently guide and challenge you to help you reconnect with your best self and find your way forward. This type of therapy means that you are always in control of what we do in the therapy sessions. I also incorporate Psychodynamic therapy which looks at how your past experiences affect your present and (CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which focuses on changing unhelpful or unhealthy thoughts and behaviours.

Together, we'll explore your experiences in a safe supportive space to find your own path to healing and growth to discover your unique potential and experience a collaborative and empowering therapeutic journey. Working with a therapist who will strive to deeply understand you, helping you develop self awareness and self acceptance to connect with your true self.

You will experience therapy tailored to your unique needs and goals to build a stronger sense of self, developing greater self-compassion and understanding, moving towards living a more authentic and fulfilling life.

If you are stuck or would like to change your thoughts, feelings, behaviour or would like to feel happier? Then therapy could be the answer for you.

I have worked in depth with Anxiety, addiction, abuse, ADHD, depression, domestic abuse, emotional abuse, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) eating disorders, OCD, trauma, family issues and most common life problems. I have lived experience as a parent dealing with emotionally based school avoidance.

If you're ready for change, reach out for a free 15-minute chat to see how I can support you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
