About me

Hi my name is Nick and since 2008, I have been providing therapy to individuals who have struggled with feeling of low moods and self esteem, sadness, stress, loneliness, relationship breakdowns and problems with intimacy as well as work related stress.  Along with a range of issues from addiction, mental illness, abuse, including domestic violence and other traumas.

I offer therapy to couples and individuals on both a short term or long term basis.  Each session lasts 50 minutes and my normal fee starts from £60 and couple therapy £80. My practice is also open out of office hours so that it is accessible to people who work full time.

My training was at a university where at first I completed a BSc in Psychology in 2008 and later an MSc in integrative counselling and Psychotherapy in 2012.  Therefore, my work is grounded in the science of Psychology but I can utilize a range therapeutic models that included Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Existential.

The approach I use involves an empathetic, non judgmental, in-depth exploration of your experiences that are causing you distress, with the aim of providing you with greater insight and confidence to affect positive changes in your life that can lead to greater sense of fulfilment in your relationships. Central to our work together would be the therapeutic relationship, which becomes the vehicle for change. The work focuses on the here and now with an understanding of how past negative experiences might still be causing you distress in your current relationships, as well as, how positive experiences can be harnessed to produce sustainable personal growth and greater fulfilment and intimacy in your relationships.

My practice in Swindon is open in 2 locations.  One is very central at 9 Regents Circus and there are a number of car parks local to the rooms.  The second location is to the north of city where there is access to free parking.

My practice in Devizes is the centre of town and there is limited free street parking, as well as being close to several car parks, it can be reached by bus.

My practice is open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
