About me
Welcome/Croeso! My name is Nia and I'm a Relational Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
You might be seeking therapy to cope with the stressors of everyday life and relationships. Perhaps you’d like to talk to someone about painful experiences, whether that’s recently or in your past. Maybe you’re not sure what you want to talk about in therapy, but you’re aware that things are feeling difficult at the moment. You may have noticed some patterns of thoughts or behaviours that you'd like to unpick. Whatever it is that brings you to my page, I’m glad you’re here.
Life is complicated and it can be difficult to manage sometimes. Seeking support is an act of kindness for yourself. In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. This will be the foundation through which we can explore the challenges you're facing and how they're impacting you. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where we can explore your perspectives and emotions at length. I will seek to validate your experiences in hope to work toward understanding how you will move on from here.
I draw on a variety of therapeutic models to suit your intentions for therapy. I predominantly work drawing on Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy theories. Working in an integrative manner offers flexibility to adapt my style of counselling in relation to your needs.
I'm a registered member of the BACP and align myself with their Ethical Framework. I'm an LGBTQIA+ ally with an awareness of societal barriers that have an impact on many, such as: race, gender, class, ability and ethnicity.
I am a Welsh speaker, therefore I offer my services in Welsh also.
Rwy'n cynnig sesiynau yn Gymraeg, ymgynghorwch am galwad rhagarweiniol.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
