About us

Next Step Psychotherapy & Wellbeing are a Counselling and Psychotherapy Wellbeing Service the North East of England.

With private premises in Gosforth and Monkseaton. We offer counselling & Psychotherapy for adults, couples, children and young people.

Counselling & Psychotherapy gives you the opportunity to talk through your problems in a safe, confidential and non judgement environment, where you will be able to embark on a journey of self discovery, which will allow you to understand yourself better, explore destructive patterns of behaviour, help you look at the alternative options and give you awareness of different choices you could make. Have a look further down the page on the types of issues our therapists work with.

Our hope is to be a resource to each and every client, and that if we can’t help you, we will try to help in anyway we can to with someone we may feel can. We are a non jargon, down to earth friendly team of therapists (biased I know), here to make everything simple, straightforward and provide a holistic wellbeing approach in one place.

As well as therapy we also offer therapeutic parenting programs, dramatherapy, work with schools, businesses and provide after school clubs (in our Goforth Clinic) and training in and around the North East.

You can BOOK a free consultation ONLINE 24 hours a day at a time that’s convenient for yourself.  Please see the website for more details.

Member organisations *

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
