About me

At certain times in our lives most of us find we become stuck or unhappy. These feelings can arise from repeating the same mistakes or patterns. Sometimes a bereavement can result in overwhelming feelings of grief or loss. We can begin to experience symptoms of anxiety or depression. We can feel trapped at work or in our personal relationships. We can struggle with issues around self-esteem or low confidence. Coming to terms with and accepting our true identities in terms of gender and sexuality can be extremely challenging. Trauma from our past which we have not processed can re-emerge. Sometimes things just don’t feel right.

What you can expect from Therapy

I offer a confidential, warm and safe space and help you to gain greater insight into what is going on for you. Therapy can help you uncover blind spots and together we can discover the root causes of the challenges you face. After spending time exploring where you are now, we can turn our focus to the future and map out what your hopes and goals are and how you can work towards them. During your therapeutic journey, you can take time to connect with your values, belief, hopes and dreams, which in turn leads to a more fulfilling and rich life.

I work with adults aged 16 and over and I work with a broad range of people including those from the LGBTQ+ community and those with a BAME/BIPOC background. I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients from different cultures and experiences. I offer weekly sessions and the therapy can be open ended or 12 sessions, depending on your preference. I have a private practice in King's Cross and I usually see clients face to face on weekly basis. I am also able to offer Zoom sessions or phone sessions and we can discuss which option is better for you.

What to expect in our first session

Our first session will involve an assessment, which will give us both the opportunity to decide if we want to work together. I will try and get a picture of where you are currently and you can ask me any questions you may have about therapy. We can then arrange a convenient day and time to begin.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
