About me

If you find yourself feeling overcome with anxiety, anger or sadness or if you find you aren’t engaging in your life or those around you have noticed that you’re pulling away, if you notice that emotional upset is starting to affect your general health, if you find yourself drinking or eating in greater quantities than usual, if you feel disconnected from your job even if it used to make you happy, if your friend meet-ups and family gatherings have lost their previous joyfulness, if you find yourself disillusioned, feeling like there’s not a lot of purpose or a point or feeling a general sense of unhappiness, or if you have trouble communicating how you really feel (or even being able to identify it in the moment), or perhaps there is something else that is troubling you - maybe it is the right time to consider therapy.

I offer a professional and confidential space where you can bring your thoughts and feelings about things that worry you. Together we can explore the reasons that brought you to therapy, your present difficulties and influences from the past. Our work will help you to see more clear the situation you find yourself in. It will help you to understand your own feelings and to think about the way you relate to people around you. With time, it will enable you to create positive changes for yourself and find the way forward.

I am a qualified and registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I work in North London in my Private Practice with adult clients of different ages.

I am passionate about what I do and have an experience of working with such issues as Anxiety, Depression, Issues of Self-Esteem, Abuse, Panic Attacks, Stress, Work Related Difficulties, Trauma, Loss, Identity Issues, Cultural Issues, Life Changing Events and Transitions, Loneliness and Isolation, Living with Mental illnesses and other long-term Health Conditions, Fear of Breakdown, Relational Problems and other Interpersonal Difficulties.

I believe that as an individual you are unique. It has a great importance to our work. Having this in mind we can focus on what it is like for you to have an anxiety, depression or some other difficulty that troubles you without being marginalized by particular terms or experiences of others.

Sometimes it may not feel that way, but within you you have all the answers for the questions you may be struggling with. My role as a practitioner is to assist you and help you to uncover what is already there but perhaps is somewhat out of reach.

I understand that starting therapy isn't easy. It in itself can be an anxiety provoking process. I am here to offer my help - please email me if anything you are uncertain about and I will do my best responding to you. You can find my email address on my website http://natalialockett.com/contact-me.html

Also don't hesitate to contact me if you wish to arrange the time in person to explore together if therapy is something that is right for you at this moment and if working with me towards your personal goals is something you would like to do.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
