About me

Welcome. Feeling burnt out, anxious, depressed, or held back by past traumas? Perhaps you are seeking personal growth, self-care, or navigating challenging relationships.

If so, let's talk. I'm an integrative, relational therapist grounded in curiosity, compassion, creativity and an occasional sprinkling of humour and joy.

Grounded in a person- centred and relational approach, our relationship matters, and it is through the secure building of and commitment to this that you are better able to bring your whole self.

Developing a trusting relationship, through listening and attuning to the whole of you (mind, body and soul), we can collaboratively, curiously and gently explore the issues, needs and goals that have brought you to therapy. I work collaboratively, encouraging you to feel in control of therapy, yourself and your life.

About Me

Prior to retraining as a therapist, I worked for decades in the charity sector, supporting young people affected by child sexual exploitation, parents whose children were affected by sexual and criminal exploitation, and families experiencing conflict and various traumatic events. These experiences supported me in developing a commitment to trauma and shame-sensitive practice, an inclusive approach, and an understanding of systemic barriers, judgement, and bias. Therapeutically, I have experience of supporting people with life-altering illness, bereavement, domestic and sexual abuse, men’s mental health, anxiety, depression, and sexuality. I am influenced by social justice, asking not ‘what is wrong with’, but what’s wrong FOR you’ and ‘what do you need.’

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications:

Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy: Distinction (PGDip)

I’ve counselled people experiencing life-altering illness, bereavement, domestic and sexual abuse, anxiety, depression and men’s mental health issues.

For decades, I have worked alongside parents and young people affected by child sexual exploitation, online sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation (county lines). Supporting families experiencing distress, traumatic events, and conflict, I have drawn on training in non-violent communication.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
