HOLISTIC APPROACH
Working 'in-the-moment', with awareness of the body, emotional and mental experience, I listen attentively to what is happening in the present and support you to do the same - as it is in the now that we have the capacity for effective insight, growth and change.
My counselling and psychotherapy practice is dedicated to helping you bring awareness to your difficulties whilst building the inner capacity to support yourself in any situation.
I work mindfully and heartfully to meet you where you are at now and support you with whatever difficulty you are experiencing in your life. My experience of counselling, stress-management and wellbeing coaching allows me to use a variety of skills within my work.
WHO DO I WORK WITH?
I work one-to-one with adults of all ages, cultures and backgrounds and provide counselling sessions that are tailored to you.
I have a lot of experience helping people who have been struggling with anxiety, relationships, stress, trauma (including PTSD and CPTSD), bereavement, depression, panic attacks, abuse and more. If you are having a difficulty not mentioned here please feel welcome to ask me about it - I will always be honest and upfront with you about the help I can and cannot offer.
Depending on what you are seeking, sessions may include talking therapy, focused relaxation or meditative exercises. Where helpful I can make suggestions depending on what difficulties you are experiencing so you can decide what is the right approach for you. At every stage you will be given choice about how we proceed.
Training, qualifications & experience
- UKCP accredited psychotherapist
- Masters in Mindfulness Core Process Psychotherapy
- Additional training in Integrative approach (including skills from CBT and person-centered approach)
- Additional training in Stress Management and Wellbeing Coaching
My counselling training is broad based. I have a Masters in Mindfulness Core Process psychotherapy. This was a four year training in the original Mindfulness approach to psychotherapy in the UK. I have also studied a holistic approach that incorporates many well-known forms of counselling (including CBT and person-centered). This integrative approach allows me to utilise a wide range of practices for a more rounded and effective therapy tailored to you.
Additionally, I have trained in Stress Management and Wellbeing Coaching and am able to facilitate focused relaxation exercises and awareness building exercises. These can be the focus of sessions or incorporated into ongoing counselling work if appropriate.
I am an accredited member of UKCP and abide by their code of ethics for professional practice.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
