About me
Welcome to my practice
My name is Monika, and I am an integrative counsellor. If you’re wondering, “What exactly does integrative counselling mean?” you’re not alone it’s a question I’ve spent years refining my answer to! Here's how I see it:
I work in a person-centred way, but not in the traditional sense of strictly following one therapeutic model. Instead, I place you your unique needs, experiences, and goals at the heart of every session. My focus is on creating a strong therapeutic relationship rooted in compassion, respect, and genuine care. Above all, your safety and confidentiality are my top priorities.
This foundation allows us to co-create a space where you feel comfortable to explore your challenges, emotions, and experiences. My approach is always tailored to you, meaning no two sessions are alike. I adjust my methods based on what feels right for you, offering support that evolves as your journey unfolds.
Challenging yet caring
While I aim to provide a comforting and supportive environment, growth often happens outside of our comfort zones. At times, I may gently challenge you to confront difficult emotions or patterns, but I always do so with care and sensitivity. I believe that these moments of discomfort can lead to transformative personal insights and meaningful change.
I won’t give you direct advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I’ll help you view your situation through new lenses, explore possibilities that align with your values, and empower you to make decisions that feel authentic to you. Together, we’ll work through the uncomfortable feelings you might have avoided and cultivate greater self-awareness and growth.
A journey we take together
Therapy is not always easy it’s a process that can feel challenging or even overwhelming at times. It’s normal to feel like things get harder before they get better. My role is to walk alongside you through those dark and difficult moments, to make the overwhelming parts of your journey feel a little more manageable.
I’m reminded of a quote that resonates deeply with my work:
“When you can’t look on the bright side, I will sit with you in the dark.”
If you’re ready to take the first step, know that you won’t be alone. I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I believe that any area of concern and symptoms are often caused by past traumas and are ways of communicating something is not right with the way you may feel. This is why concentrating on the problem on its own is not always the solution.
