About me
Hello, my name is Moira Jobson. I am an integrative psychotherapist specialising in the effects of trauma. This can be your own or trauma that you experienced in others.
I am primarily based in a private counselling space at my home near Henley. I also work from therapy rooms in Henley town centre. I am very familiar with working online using the Zoom platform.
I have created a dedicated, comfortable counselling space, separate from my house which guarantees complete confidentiality during our sessions.
I am here to help you explore whatever difficult feelings or situations you might be facing in your life. I work by offering a deep insight into why you show up in the way that you do in the relationships in your life. I am fully aware of how deeply you can be affected by other people's difficult behaviours. I am also very aware of the impact of addiction - at any point in your life - and how challenging that can be to navigate.
Every aspect of how I work as a therapist is inevitably informed by my own lifelong journey of personal recovery from complex emotional issues. This journey fuels my passion of wanting to help others heal.
I am also experienced at helping clients with:
- Anxiety and Fear
- Depression
- Relationship Issues - how we show up in relationships as opposed to working with more than one person.
- Low self confidence
- Trauma
- Low Self-Esteem
- Anger management
- Stress and overwhelm
- Codependency
- Adult Child Issues
How can I help you?
It is easy to feel overwhelm or anxiety in life and to struggle to see a way forward. Life can feel complicated and baffling for anyone at any time. I will endeavour to offer you a safe space where you can explore any issues or feelings. There is no judgment or expectations of you in this space.
I believe in psycho-education, which essentially means I will try to offer you explanations for why you are encountering issues and will support you in finding your way to solutions that are right for you.
Finding the courage to look at where confusing emotions come from enables you to start to make sense of yourself in a way that may not have been previously possible.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
