Support for family, friends and others affected by another's struggles with addiction.

Addiction doesn't just affect the person with the addiction; it also affects those around them. You may feel worried, exhausted, angry, confused or guilty. Many people feel stuck between protecting and caring for themselves and feeling that they are carrying far more responsibility than they let on.

Living alongside addiction can feel isolating. Friends and family members often minimise their own needs, struggle with boundaries or feel unsure whether they are helping or making things worse. Over time, this can take a real emotional toll.

The purpose of starting this group was to provide a safe and confidential space so you can talk about what is going on for you and to find identification and reassurance from the shared experiences of others going through similar struggles. Those who attend gain a huge amount of solace and relief from this group.

I have considerable experience in working with addiction both addicts in the clutches of addiction and those affected by their struggle. I bring the benefit of this experience together with deep empathy for the huge impact this baffling and emotionally loaded affliction has on all those it touches.
