About me

Counselling aligns perfectly with my passion for change, and ability to engage and build confidence with those around me. With my extensive background and qualifications in integrative counselling and art therapy, coupled with my theoretical knowledge spanning various therapeutic approaches, I am confident in my ability to make a significant contribution to individuals’ life as a counsellor.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, each with their unique presenting issues. My experience has allowed me to successfully address a wide range of concerns, including the impact of Covid-19, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, bereavement, abandonment, abuse, sexuality, identity, addiction, adverse childhood experiences, trauma, family issues, low self-esteem, low/no self-confidence, stress, near-death experiences (NDE), romance scams, online fraud, and the far-reaching effects of the pandemic.

I have had the opportunity to work in both clinical and community settings, where I have honed my abilities to connect with clients on a deep level, establish trust, and create a safe space for open communication. My approach to counselling is person-centred, meaning that I tailor my interventions and treatment plans to meet everyone's unique needs and goals. I firmly believe in the power of empathy, active listening, and non-judgmental support to empower clients on their journey toward personal growth and healing.

My approach to counselling is rooted in being open-minded, caring, empathetic, fun, honest, polite, and warm-hearted. I genuinely believe in the inherent potential for growth and development in every individual when provided with the right information, environment, and support. By fostering a safe and nurturing space, I aim to empower clients to explore their experiences, gain self-awareness, and discover their innate strengths and resilience.

I am adept at building strong therapeutic relationships, creating a foundation of trust, and establishing a sense of safety for clients to share their deepest concerns. Through active listening and a person-centred approach, I ensure that clients feel heard, validated, and understood. My ability to engage and build confidence with those around me has consistently contributed to the success of my counselling sessions, allowing individuals to feel supported and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

One of my core strengths is my ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with my clients. I strive to create a warm and accepting environment, where individuals feel heard, validated, and understood. I value the importance of collaboration and believe that clients should be active participants in their own healing process. By fostering a collaborative partnership, I help clients develop resilience, gain insight into their challenges, and discover their inner strengths and resources.

In addition to my degree in Integrative Counselling, I hold qualifications in art therapy, which allows me to incorporate creative expression into the therapeutic process. This unique approach enables individuals to explore their emotions, experiences, and narratives in a non-verbal and deeply meaningful way, facilitating personal growth and healing.

I am well-versed in various theoretical frameworks, including psychodynamics, humanistic approaches, cognitive-behavioural theory, and existentialism. This broad knowledge base allows me to tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the individual needs of each client, drawing from a diverse range of techniques and strategies to facilitate positive change.

Furthermore, I am a dedicated professional who thrives in collaborative environments. I possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I am committed to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in counselling to provide the highest quality of care.

I am genuinely passionate about supporting individuals on their journey towards personal growth and well-being.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
