About me
Hi, I’m Mika. I’m a warm, down-to-earth counsellor who helps people manage anxiety, depression, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). My clients often tell me they feel comfortable and able to be completely themselves with me - to laugh, cry, swear, or just breathe without judgment.
If you often feel overwhelmed, stuck in negative thoughts, or like your mind won’t switch off, therapy can help you regain calm, clarity, and confidence. Together, we’ll work on understanding what’s happening beneath the surface while building practical tools to manage daily life more easily.
I have lived experience of neurodiversity, which gives me a deep understanding of how exhausting it can be to navigate a world that doesn’t always “get it.” Alongside my work with ADHD and OCD, I also support clients through stress, low mood, grief and major life changes.
My Approach
I combine person-centred counselling with elements of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) as appropriate. This means our work is guided by your pace and needs, while also providing practical tools to help you manage thoughts, emotions, and behaviours more effectively.
Benefits of Person-Centred Counselling:
- A safe, non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts and feelings
- Feeling heard, understood, and validated
- Working at your own pace in a collaborative way
- Building self-awareness and emotional resilience
Benefits of CBT:
- Practical strategies to manage anxiety, stress, or low mood
- Identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns
- Tools to improve coping and daily functioning
- Structured techniques alongside emotional exploration
I offer face-to-face sessions in Failsworth and Prestwich, alongside remote counselling via telephone and online video. I also offer live text counselling sessions for those who may find typing more comfortable than talking.
If you’re ready to start feeling more in control and at peace, I’d love to hear from you.

Further information
My therapy room is based on the 1st floor. There is a short flight of stairs, toilet access and parking are available.
I primarily work using a person-centred approach, placing your experiences and goals at the heart of therapy. In our first session, we'll explore what's brought you to counselling and decide on the most helpful ways to support your progress. Where appropriate, I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques, helping you develop practical coping strategies.
