About me

Hello and Welcome,

My name is Michelle, and I’m a fully qualified and compassionate counsellor and therapist. I offer confidential, professional therapy tailored to your needs, either in person in a peaceful and private setting in Broadstone, or remotely via telephone or online sessions for clients across the UK and Ireland. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy, which can be a wonderful way to combine the benefits of nature with the therapeutic process.

At Well Mynd, my focus is on helping you take control of your life, improve your relationships - both with yourself and others - and address any underlying mental health concerns. I am here to listen, support, and guide you through any challenges you may be facing.

You will be truly heard. Together, we can work through life’s difficult moments, develop healthier coping strategies, and help you build a deeper understanding of yourself. Whether you’re dealing with mind health conditions, physical health challenges, or the impact of major life events, therapy can be a powerful tool for growth and healing.

I offer a **free 15-minute consultation**, where we can discuss your needs and explore how I may be able to support you on your journey. It’s an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine if we’re a good fit to work together.

In therapy, we will explore your feelings and experiences, helping you navigate through setbacks and disappointments. I’ll support you in developing a healthier sense of self, building positive relationships, and creating a strong, supportive network around you.

We can also work to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, developing coping skills and practice self-compassion to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing. Whether it’s improving communication in relationships or addressing deeper emotional challenges, I will be there to guide you every step of the way.

I work with individuals experiencing a range of difficulties, including:
**Depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD**
**Bereavement and loss**                                                                          **Redundancy and career challenges**
**Relationship difficulties**
**Low self-esteem, anger, shame, and the impact of trauma or abuse**

You don’t have to navigate these struggles alone. Together, we can develop practical tools to manage life’s challenges and reduce the long-term impact of mental health conditions. My goal is to help you build trust in yourself and in the therapeutic relationship, which will serve as a foundation for healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.

I understand that taking the first step can feel daunting, but reaching out for support is a powerful act of self-care. I would love to help you on your path to feeling better, more balanced, and more in control of your life.

If you’re ready to take the next step, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to working with you.

Warm regards
Michelle Barnett

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
