About me
I offer counselling from a Person-Centred integrative perspective, combining various methods that will aid your goals and process in therapy. We will discuss some of these ideas that would be comfortable for you and explore how to use techniques that can be used in your everyday life. There is a way of reaching a calmer and less troubled mind for everyone.
As a counsellor, you can expect that I am laid back, open minded, compassionate and completely committed to supporting my clients in their therapy goals. We are all guaranteed facing adversity at some point in our life and I believe therapy is a way of gaining some resilience to navigate tough times. I can provide the therapeutic space for you to explore what this means for you, respecting that you know you best and will support your process with empathy.
I am a member of a counselling professional body, BACP who require ethical practice and evidence of maintained standards.

Qualifications and Training
- Level 6 in Psychotherapeutic Counselling

Experience
I have experience of working with a charity providing counselling to those affected by domestic abuse. This can be traumatic for most and a difficult recovery that requires compassion and understanding. I predominantly worked with women in this charity, but I am passionate that men get the support to explore the impact of abuse in a safe, non-judgemental space.
Most recently, I have provided counselling within a local prison, working in a stressful, demanding and often chaotic environment. I know too well that when a person is dealing with uncertain circumstances, mental health can become the biggest challenge. Working with those who have experienced very difficult life events in this setting has given me the opportunity to deal with challenges that have enhanced my professional ability.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
