About me

I am a relational therapist, trained in person-centred therapy with a trauma-informed approach. I offer a safe, confidential space to explore what matters most to you. Whether you're looking to heal from past trauma, gain clarity around current confusion, or develop healthier relationships, I can work with you each step of the way. I have over 12 years experience of working with people who are navigating tricky feelings and issues like low self esteem & lack of confidence, anxiety & depression, grief & loss, stress & overwhelm, life transitions like perimenopause, re-location and midlife crisis, and relational issues to name just a few.

My belief is that everyone’s experiences are shaped by their own life context, and therapy acknowledge's and respect's that. I work with clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and belief systems. I respect and honour each person’s unique context, and I aim to integrate an understanding of cultural diversity into the therapeutic process.

Healing tends to happen in relationship, therapy is not about fixing you or applying techniques, but about providing the right space where trust and empathy can guide you to new understandings of yourself and your experiences. I believe that you have the answers within yourself, and my role is to help you uncover those answers, empowering you to navigate challenges with a renewed sense of clarity, confidence, and emotional resilience.

My work extends to those grappling with complex trauma, childhood trauma, and sexual trauma, areas where I have significant experience in supporting individuals on their healing journey. I am deeply committed to creating a safe space with you where trauma can be addressed, understood, and worked through at your pace. We start slowly with developing emotional regulation skills and grounding techniques, locating safety in the body in the present and later we explore the impact of these life experiences, and help you gently unpack the beliefs and patterns that may have developed as a result.

Before becoming a therapist I designed and implemented creative inclusion projects for all ages of people in marginalised communities within various charities around the UK. I later worked for 5 years at Mind and The BRIT School as a therapist for adults and young people. These experiences shaped my approach, fostering my belief in the importance of inclusion. They also inform how I work with clients today, valuing personal growth, creativity and self-expression, and the importance of creating space for those who feel excluded or misunderstood.

I am committed to providing a confidential and ethical space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely, without fear of judgement. In my practice, confidentiality is a priority, and I work with the highest level of integrity to ensure that you feel safe to express your most vulnerable emotions.

As a Neuro-queer therapist, I bring an additional understanding of neurodivergence and a compassionate, open-mind to gender and sexuality. While these aspects don’t define me, they inform my approach, and I welcome anyone wishing to explore these topics within therapy. My experience as neurodivergent allows me to connect with ease, whether neurodivergent or neurotypical. I am currently updating my knowledge & training in ADHD, AUTISM & AUDHD, which is a fascinating journey both personally and for my client work.

I approach therapy with the belief that we are all capable of growth, sometimes we get stuck, and sometimes we just need the right support to uncover our inner strength. Whether you come with clear goals or an uncertain sense of where to start, I am here with empathy, understanding, and a deep respect for your personal journey.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

You can contact me with any questions that come to mind, if you would like to book a free 20 min call please message me using the contact above, we will choose a time that suits us both.

If during the call we find out that we are a good match, we will decide the day, the time, the fee and choose a starting date together.

  • I provide sessions tailored to your needs, usually sessions are 50 mins.
  • I have both online and in person sessions subject to availability.
  • Short term therapy is often 6 to 12 weeks

Open ended therapy can be as long as it's needed, a few years or several years, we will check in systematically to have reviews to discuss and understand if the end is in sight and plan an ending together.

I am happy to build a framework that is tailored to your needs based on my understanding that a session can be too long for some, or too short for others, the cadence is also considered.

At the moment I have 8 steps to climb to reach my front door so I am unable to offer in person session to wheelchair users, I am willing to discuss renting a room for purpose to do so, just message me so that we can make a plan.

Lighting and sensory considerations are in place in my therapy room, I welcome any request for further accommodations and adjustments in person and online, your comfort is important to me.
