My name is Mel and Welcome to my profile!
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor with 10 years experience of working with Primary aged children, young adults and adults. Issues have ranged in many areas from, friendship and family conflicts, neglect, abuse, addiction, depression, anxiety and stress. I am very open minded and able to assist you in exploring areas of your life which may be troubling you.
My career began in North London where I obtained my Degree in Counselling. I have a very warm approach and am non judgmental with an ability for empathy, which is one of the first steps towards building a solid client-counselling relationship.
My background is in music and I am able to use music in sessions if you wish. Exploring through this medium can be highly beneficial in the healing process. I am currently studying my Masters in Music in Canterbury, one key part of this study is Music Psychology for Mental and Emotional wellbeing. I will be looking at completing a more formal qualification in the near future for Music Therapy.
I abide by the ethical principles of the BACP where confidentiality and boundaries are maintained throughout the client-counsellor relationship, adult and child Safeguarding is promoted and ongoing for your welfare and protection.

Am Negotiable: Depending on your circumstances, I'm happy to discuss this.
I am a very positive person, I consider myself to be quite spiritual. I am extremely broad minded and understand life's difficulties and curve balls. I believe nothing is in black and white, there are many areas to be explored.
I am happy to work within whichever framework that works for you. If you have issues or situations you don't see here on my profile, please do let me know as I am sure I can still offer you a safe space to work things through. The main thing is you would have taken your first step towards a happier version of you.
I also offer family counselling, parent and child counselling, transgender issues, sexual issues etc.
Should travelling be an issue, I may be able to provide a 'mobile' Counselling service depending on location.
