About me
I understand it can feel hard to be vulnerable and share your story. Building trust takes time, and I’ll work gently at your pace, checking in to make sure it feels right for you.
I’m a trained psychotherapeutic counsellor for children and young people, with years of experience supporting women too. I often work with those who feel low, worn out, anxious or unseen who carry quiet feelings of not being good enough, or not truly mattering, who feel lost in themselves and in life. Many I support are neurodivergent, sensitive or tend to care for others while neglecting their own needs, often feeling burnt out, hopeless or uncertain about the future.
My approach is shaped by individual need. I understand that finding the words can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming. As an artist, writer, and musician, I offer creative ways to explore your story, alongside traditional talking therapy. I also offer the option of working outdoors, which can feel less intense and grounding due to its calming nature.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a children and young person’s psychotherapeutic counsellor trained at the Northern Guild in Newcastle and have experience working therapeutically with women too.
My training was integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches including Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Person-Centred, and creative therapy models. I am a registered member of the BACP, receive regular one to one and peer supervision, and am committed to ongoing professional and personal development.
I bring a creative and nature-based approach to therapy. I’ve completed Outdoor Therapy training with the Venture Trust and am a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader. I have led women’s therapeutic forest sessions and run forest school programmes for children and teenagers. I also have experience supporting adults from diverse backgrounds and cultures in a therapeutic community garden. I hold Paediatric and Forest School First Aid certification and have an enhanced DBS check.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a counsellor at a trauma-informed charity at their centre and in primary and secondary schools supporting children, young people, carers and families impacted by domestic abuse. I also have experience working as a school counsellor in a Newcastle primary school.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in a variety of creative and educational roles. My background spans the Arts as well as work in the environmental sector and in education. I have an MA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, a MLitt in Creative Writing from the University of Glasgow and a PgDip in General Journalism from the London School of Journalism. I have a TEFL qualification and have taught in Asia, Africa and Mainland Europe, worked as a Learning Support tutor for young people with additional needs, tutored English and Maths and been a creative writing workshop facilitator for schools and festivals in the UK. I have volunteered in women's refuges', in homeless shelters and for environmental projects.
Raised internationally, with family and friends from different cultures and backgrounds, I bring a global and inclusive perspective to my practice. This breadth of experience helps me connect with clients from diverse backgrounds in a meaningful and empathetic way, knowing what it is like to live a long way from home or feel different to the culture or environment in which you live.
I offer a compassionate, nurturing, safe and creative space where you can gently explore your feelings, build resilience, and move toward a more hopeful and fulfilling future. I believe the relationship we build is central to meaningful therapy, so if it feels like I might be the right fit for you, I’d love to hear from you.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
