About me
As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I have many years’ experience working within the NHS, the third sector and my private practice in St Albans. In addition, as a music therapist/arts psychotherapist I am also able to work with children and adolecents. I am accredited with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Psychotherapy sessions takes place in a confidential and non-judgmental space, where you are invited to speak freely about your difficulties and whatever is on your mind. It is an explorative approach that helps you become more aware of the underlying dynamics which contribute towards emotional and relationship issues. Sessions sometimes involve thinking about how previous life experiences can repeat in different ways and can continue to influence present day feelings and behaviours. Developing greater awareness and understanding of this can help reduce psychological suffering and create opportunities for meaningful change, whether it be in personal relationships, at work, or in the way you perceive yourself.
I am currently a Senior Psychological Therapist within NHS adult mental health services, in which I also provide clinical supervision for qualified and trainee psychotherapists and psychologists. My own clinical trainings have taken place at the Anna Freud Centre, the International Centre for Arts Psychotherapies and the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Centre. Alongside my therapeutic work, I have given workshops and seminars for interdisciplinary teams and psychotherapy organisations, such as the Place 2 Be and the World Psychotherapy Foundation.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
