My supervisees hold complex cases involving personality disorder and psychosis. I adopt mentalisation based techniques and a psychoanalytically informed stance. I tend to lean towards using the transference within the supervisory relationship itself, in order to work with the ‘total situation’ as this facilitates a deeper understanding of the work.
