About me
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist & Coach
Are you feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, or is a sense of "disconnection" affecting your relationships and personal growth?
I am a qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Coach with over 15 years of experience supporting people to transform their lives and perspectives. In my practice, I provide an integrative approach founded in psychodynamic theory, dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate complex emotional landscapes.
By blending deep psychodynamic therapeutic insight with the forward-facing integrative modalities, I work with you to transform your current mindset and reshape neural pathways for lasting change. My work focuses on uncovering the "why" behind your feelings, while providing the practical tools to navigate the "how" of your future.
Integrative Approach founded in Psychodynamic Principles
My practice is built on a versatile framework that bridges the gap between understanding your past and navigating your future. I offer the following modalities:
- Individual Psychodynamic Psychotherapy:This approach explores how unconscious thoughts and past experiences—often rooted in childhood—shape your current behaviour and emotions. By bringing these hidden patterns to light, we can resolve deep-seated conflicts and foster genuine self-awareness. Usually long-term focus.
- Integrative Psychotherapy: A flexible and holistic way of working that blends different therapeutic tools and theories to suit your specific needs. This approach adapts to your unique personality and the challenges you are facing. Usually long/short-term.
- Relationship & Couples Therapy (Individuals and Couples): Whether attended with a partner or partners, or individually to process relationship dynamics, this therapy focuses on the "space between" people. We examine communication patterns, attachment styles, and shared histories to improve connection and deepen intimacy.
- Coaching (Individual and Group): Unlike traditional therapy, coaching is primarily goal-oriented and future-focused. It involves structured sessions designed to unlock your potential, improve performance, and develop actionable strategies for personal or professional growth.
- Psychosexual Therapy (In Training): Working under specialist supervision, this therapy addresses the psychological aspects of sexual difficulties. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore issues such as loss of desire, performance anxiety, or the impact of trauma on intimacy. Working with individuals and couples, building, supporting, and exploring sexual desire.

Areas of Specialism
- Emotional Well-being: Self-Esteem, Anxiety, and Depression
Low self-esteem, chronic anxiety, and depression are often the visible symptoms of deeper, unresolved internal conflicts. When we experience a persistent sense of worthlessness or a loss of meaning - which can sometimes lead to suicidal ideation - it is frequently a sign that our psyche is overwhelmed by historical or current pressures. We look beyond the immediate symptoms to understand the root causes of your emotional distress. - Trauma Recovery: Abuse and Childhood Experiences
Living with the legacy of abuse - whether physical, emotional, or sexual - often feels like carrying a fragmented history into the present. Psychodynamic psychotherapy provides a secure environment to process these traumatic memories at your own pace. We focus on working through the shame and guilt that often accompany survival, helping you to integrate these experiences so they no longer hold power over your current life. - Relational Therapy: Individuals, Couples, and Polyamory
Relational dynamics are at the core of the human experience. Whether working with individuals exploring their relationship patterns or with couples and polyamorous/ENM (Ethical Non-Monogamy) constellations, I focus on the "unconscious contract" between people. We examine how attachment styles influence communication and how past wounds can be projected onto partners to build clearer boundaries and more fulfilling connections. - Adoption: Adoptee Experiences, Attachment and Parental Support. Adoption carries unique psychological complexities for the adoptee, birth parents, and adoptive parents alike. I provide a specialised space to explore the nuances of identity formation and the primal wounds often associated with early separation. My work focuses on attachment theory - helping individuals understand how early relational blueprints affect adult intimacy - and provides empathetic support for adoptive parents. I am particularly experienced in supporting adoptive parents navigating the unique challenges of parenting a previously cared-for child, helping to manage the complex emotional needs, developmental trauma, and attachment difficulties that can arise in the transition to a permanent home.
- Psychosexual Health: Function, Infidelity, and Desire
I provide a non-pathologising space to address sexual dissatisfaction and dysfunction, ranging from performance anxiety to a total loss of desire. We navigate the complex fallout of infidelity, as well as the practical and emotional nuances of sexual kinks and sex addiction. Whether you are seeking to explore your desires more fully or are navigating the boundaries of ethical non-monogamy, we work under specialist supervision to align your sexual life with your values. - LGBTQ+ Identity
I offer an affirmative and informed space where your identity is respected and understood within its social and political context. We explore the intersections of your identity, addressing the specific challenges related to family dynamics, societal marginalisation, and the quest for authentic self-expression, supporting you in developing a positive, integrated sense of self.

Professional Bodies & Ethical Standards
I place the utmost importance on maintaining a safe, confidential, and ethical practice. My work is guided by the ethical frameworks of the leading professional bodies in the UK, ensuring the highest standard of care and accountability:
- Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
- Member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) UK
- Student Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
