About me

I provide a flexible and affordable private counselling service in the Stockton Heath area of Warrington.

I am passionate about working as a counsellor and feel honoured to be a part of someone's journey to a more peaceful and fulfilling place. I practice general counselling seeing clients with a broad range of issues such as depression, bereavement, relationship problems, anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, stress and family issues

On a personal note I am an approachable, genuine and open person. I do not judge and have a natural ability to support and empathise with others. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all regarding counselling and/or psychotherapy or if you would simply like more information.

How it works
I understand that the idea of visiting a counsellor can be daunting but my approach is Person-Centred and non-directive and I will work alongside you and at a pace that it right for you.

We will sit in a relaxed, confidential, safe and comfortable room together and talk and explore; it’s as simple as that.  You are in control of what areas you want to talk about and explore.  Sometimes it is painful and difficult but at others it’s liberating, enlightening and life-changing!  Honesty, transparency and open-ness between the client and therapist are vital ingredients to its success.  My experience and skill will help us to shed light on unhelpful and helpful behaviour patterns and find ways together to negotiate a clear path.

The length of time it will take varies from person to person, but we will regularly review our progress.  There is no obligation to continue if you don’t want to or it is not working for you, and the contract can be terminated at any time.

What now
My service is totally flexible so we can organise a course of sessions that suits your needs. You can either call me or, if you prefer, send an email. I am always happy to answer any questions whatever they may be.

I will get back to you as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
