About me

Hi I am Marie, I believe that the most important thing is finding a counsellor that you click with and feel comfortable enough to talk to. We start to feel better when we find someone who understands us and we can connect with, REGAINING parts of ourselves. FREE first call offered.

A Bit About Me

Like many people, I’ve had times in my life when I needed support. Seeing a counsellor during these times made a huge difference and inspired me. It showed me how life changing it can be to have someone truly listen, without judgement.

Coming to counselling for the first time can feel daunting; I understand that completely. You might wonder, “What will I say? Will I be judged? Will this help me?” These are very common thoughts. It’s natural to feel nervous about opening up to someone you’ve never met. But in our sessions, there’s no pressure to have all the answers or know exactly where to start. The most important thing is showing up and being open to the therapeutic process.

I offer clients empathy, kindness, honesty and unconditional positive regard within a safe and confidential space.

What I Offer You

Clients have the choice of face-to-face or online Counselling sessions. I also offer Draw and Talk therapy. Over the years I have developed meaningful connections and successfully supported many adults and young people overcome and understand a wide range of difficulties, which include:

I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP number- 01021614), which means I adhere to the ethical framework that guides my practice.

Professional Background-I have over 25 years experience working with young people and adults of all ages, within private and voluntary settings as well as public settings (KCC). I have a passion for promoting young people and adults wellbeing and for mental wellbeing. I am Mental Health first Aid trained. Over the last few years there has been a rise in mental health challenges for young people and adults. This has led me to focus my practice on supporting clients of all ages, using whichever approach suits your needs the most. Some prefer face-to-face talking therapy, while others prefer a Draw and Talk approach. I offer both and can tailor these to your needs and preferences.

As well as my private practice, I’ve worked in a variety of different settings. I’ve provided emotional well-being support within education settings (Primary, secondary and SEN schools), social care settings and in wider community programs.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
