About me
Welcome! My name is Marie and I am an accredited counselling psychotherapist and supervisor with over a decade of experience. Therapy can be transformative and it takes a lot of courage to take the first step towards change.
I am passionate about helping others through their difficulties and strongly believe in autonomy. No one knows you better than you do! I offer a space that will help empower you to move towards the life you want to live. I am a cancer survivor and have faced mental health challenges myself, so I know how challenging life can sometimes be and really understand how much courage and resilience it takes to try and change things for ourselves.
I originally trained as a person-centred counsellor and this is still the foundation of my practice, though I am qualified and work using integrative therapeutic techniques. I am also a qualified trauma practitioner.
Counselling can be helpful with a wide range of emotional issues, and I hope to help you get through them in a self-empowering way, building resilience and self-reflection that, once cultivated, will benefit you long after your counselling ends.
No two counselling experiences are ever the same; we may work together for only a short time, or our work together may go on for much longer. It is important to me that I am ethically always meeting your needs and hitting the goals that you need to through our sessions. My hope is to help guide you in your journey without judgment, but you are the expert of your own life.
Many people will feel nervous about seeing a counsellor, and this is understandable. It takes a lot of courage to speak about our issues, but just like our physical need for food, water and shelter, we also have emotional needs that need attention.
My practice is fully inclusive and I welcome working with neurodivergence and LGBTQ+ clients.
Working with ADHD and well as those whose lives have been impacted by cancer is a personal as well as professional passion of mine.
Counselling is a personal and transformative experience, and I want to make it as accessible and comfortable for you as possible, so I offer online work (flexible with days/times for online work), telephone and in person sessions (in person is located in the W5 area only). I am also open to nature walks if moving therapy is a personal choice for you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
