Supervision details

Welcome! My name is Marie and I am passionate about supervision and offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to be able to reflect on your work and how it impacts you as well as your client, in an environment that encourages learning and growth as well as self-care. I work predominantly with the seven eyed model and have have been supervising since 2018 after completing a diploma level course in counselling supervision. I believe the supervision space should be relational and meet the needs of the therapist engaging in it, I bring no agenda to the session aside from a wish to support you and your work, a sprinkling of humour may also enter into sessions!

I have extensive experience supervising individuals and groups and enjoy working independently for different reputable counselling organisations. I work with a mixture of trainee counsellors, qualified and accredited counsellors and am happy to fill out supervision reports and give guidance on accreditation.

I know that choosing the right supervisor is crucial for ensuring ethically sound support for clinical practice. It protects you and the client, whilst allowing a safe space to explore the work you are doing with your clients and how it impacts your life. Respecting ethical boundaries and being reflective is essential to ensure good practice in our work and for our wellbeing.

Being an ethical practitioner and having regular supervision is paramount in our work and it is important to work within our competencies and limits of proficiency which protects the client and safeguards the duty of care. In our sessions, I will attempt to learn and grow with you whilst offering different perspectives and reflections on the work you bring which could enhance your professional practice and benefit you and your client.

I welcome working with neurodiversity and LGBTQ+.

ADHD and those whose lives have been impacted by cancer is a personal as well as professional passion of mine.

I offer an initial free 20 minute phone consultation to discuss how we could work together, with no obligation to commit.

In person sessions are located in W5 and are only offered at these times: Mondays between 10am - 2pm and Saturdays: 11am and 12pm.

Online work is far more flexible, offering later afternoon and evening appointments as well as daytimes.

I am open to home visits subject to prior checks.

My fee is £60 per hour, but I offer concession prices for trainee counsellors at £45 per hour.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
