About me
Whatever life's challenges or goals may be, it can help to be with and think with another to find understanding and change. I provide warm, non-judgemental, compassionate counselling and therapy in a safe, confidential space to support you in an exploration towards insight, resilience and a freer, more positive way of living.
As a qualified psychodynamic therapist, psychodynamic thinking underpins my practice. This means that we will explore thoughts, feelings, unconscious processes and how they influence life, helping to make sense of past and present experiences, emotions and relationships to support change.
Seeking help can be hard, as can finding the right therapist for you. To help, I offer a no-fee initial online conversation so that we can explore your reasons for seeking support and your hopes for our work together, as well as experience what sessions together may be like.
Training, qualifications & experience
Running a private practice from a dedicated consulting room at my Chelmsford home, I am also a therapist at Essex-based charity Kids Inspire, and work with people aged 16 and over with a broad range and complexity of presenting issues.
These include: abuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, OCD, relationship difficulties, self-harm, suicidal ideation, trauma and complex trauma.
I hold an MA in psychodynamic therapy and am a registered member of the BACP. Being trauma informed and trained in both Internal Family Systems (IFS) and NeuroAffective Touch, means we can develop a way of working together that feels just right for you.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I believe therapy should be available to all and have a flexible approach to make my services as accessible as possible. If there is a barrier for you to access support, whether internal and emotional or external and logistical, please get in touch so that we can think together how we might be able to meet your support needs and goals.
