About me
I specialise in culturally informed support. You may feel in-between worlds, unsure where you belong, or experiencing isolation despite your best efforts to adapt. Language, belonging, family expectations, and cultural roles can also play a significant part in how distress shows up. I will support you in your journey to understand yourself more and to integrate the different aspects of different cultures in a way that resonates with you, rather than feeling torn between them. Having lived or worked in Egypt, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, France, Italy and the UK, I understand the complexity of cultural identity and the emotional strain that can come with moving between cultures.
I also help women navigate perimenopause and menopause with greater calm, confidence, and self-understanding. Hypnotherapy works alongside medical care; it can reduce anxiety, improve sleep, ease hot flushes, and support a more peaceful relationship with the body, helping you feel more like yourself again during this time of change.
As a pluralistic counsellor and hypnotherapist, I provide a safe, compassionate, collaborative environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns at your own pace. I draw from a range of approaches—including hypnotherapy and mindfulness—allowing us to tailor the work to your personality, goals, and the pace that feels right for you. You are not expected to fit a single method; instead, we build a therapeutic path that fits you.
I work sensitively with clients navigating:
intercultural relationships
identity shifts
loneliness & cultural disconnection
adapting to new environments
internal conflict between cultural values
My aim is to offer a space where all parts of your identity feel welcomed, understood, and respected.
How we work together:
Your first session is gently exploratory. We discuss what brings you here, identify what you’d like to change, and decide together how to move forward.
Throughout therapy, you’ll have space to express your emotions and untangle the experiences that feel confusing or painful. I support you in:
recognising unhelpful patterns
understanding the roots of your stress and anxiety
building healthier coping strategies
strengthening self-compassion
increasing emotional and physical wellbeing
Many clients find that integrating mind-body approaches such as hypnotherapy, EFT, and mindfulness helps reduce anxiety symptoms such as sleep disruption, digestive issues, tension, or headaches.
What I help with:
Anxiety & stress
Low self-esteem & self-doubt
Overthinking & self-criticism
Cultural identity & intercultural issues
Loneliness & isolation
Menopause-related emotional and physical symptoms
Life transitions
Sleep difficulties
Relationship & communication challenges
Low confidence
Weight management
About me:
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in media and education—fields where I witnessed high levels of stress, pressure, and emotional strain. My own experience of therapy was life-changing and inspired me to train professionally and support others looking for relief, direction, or deeper self-understanding.
A quote I hold close, by Socrates, reflects my therapeutic philosophy:
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”
This is the foundation of our work: understanding your past with compassion while building a more empowered and balanced present.

Further information
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a teacher for many years, after a few years in media. In both of these career worlds I have seen the amount of stress and anxiety that people come under. I could see and experience how strains on our mental health can reduce our quality of life. My interest in the human mind and behaviour grew as did my love for helping people. I found ways to help people feel more positive about themselves and to take control of their lives, until I finally became a counsellor and hypnotherapist.
As a teacher, I used various techniques such as mindfulness, meditation and EFT to help my students become calmer and more positive learners. I also understand the stresses that those working in the teaching profession encounter and this has been helpful when working with clients from this background.
As I am interested in various cultures and backgrounds, I really enjoy working with a range and variety of backgrounds.
I am fully insured, registered with the ICO and have a current DBS.
