About me
I'm Mags, a BACP registered Integrative Counsellor based in Hornsey, north London. I offer a warm, thoughtful space for individuals and couples to talk through your experiences and find a more manageable way forward. You might feel overwhelmed with anxiety, separation anxiety, living with ADHD, low self confidence, constantly overthinking, finding relationships difficult or you've experienced any kind of trauma. You may be going through separation/divorce and finding it hard to agree the best way forward, share this change with your children or unsure how to co-parent.
Here you can slow down and feel listened to, valued and supported to make sense of whats happening, gain confidence and self-trust. I may offer suggestions and techniques to help you make small or bigger changes that feel clear and more manageable. We will also pay attention to your strengths and focus on what feels right for you.
Clients often describe me as warm, calm, empathic and emotionally attuned.
How we will work together - My approach is grounded in care, respect, and empathy and I will focus on your individual situation and what can help. I also draw on a range of theories including person-centred, which focuses on creating a warm, non-judgmental space where I actively listen and understand your experiences and attachment theory which explores how our early relationships can shape the way we connect with others as adults. I also use insights from the Gottman Institute which offers practical, research-based tools to help improve communication and strengthen relationships. I believe when we share whats going around in our heads and how we feel, by being heard and accepted, things can begin to make more sense, and we can leave feeling lighter.
I recognise that culture, identity and lived experience shape how we experience ourselves, others and the world around us, and I hold this in mind during our work together.
Alongside private practice, I have spent 25 years’ supporting children, young people and families facing trauma, domestic abuse, homelessness, bereavement, addiction and depression. I offered a steady, grounded space where people could express themselves freely and not hold everything alone.
I engage in regular clinical supervision, professional development and training and adhere to the BACP ethical framework. I'm fully insured and have an up to date DBS check.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
