MBACP (Accredited) Psychodynamic Counselling for adults

About me

I’m Lucy an experienced BACP accredited psychodynamic therapist based in Ridgewood, Uckfield. I see adults online and in-person in my peaceful garden room.

Would you like to live in the moment, not being held back by anxiety and stress. I work with a adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger issues, work, family and relationship problems.

I provide a safe and supportive therapeutic space to work through difficulties. I'm taking on new clients, please do contact me about starting your therapy journey.

Prior to training as a therapist my background was science and cancer research.  I am a logical, warm and engaging therapist and can help people struggling with anxiety, feelings of anger, grief and sadness allowing you to live your life with greater clarity with a deeper sense of understanding and self-awareness.

How I can help you

I have helped clients with unexplained feelings of low mood, anxiety, depression,  and those that feel lost or stuck. Others have experienced anger, grief, family, work or relationship issues. By working through unique life histories, unconscious processes are uncovered and repeating patterns noticed, allowing one to let go of what is no longer serving them. Clients leave therapy with a deeper understanding of themselves their wants and needs and a stronger more robust sense of self. My aim is to equip clients with the skills to be their own therapist, by internalising my voice and what we’ve explored together.

I will provide a warm, welcoming, confidential and safe space for you to explore what is on your mind and troubling you. We will work together to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and worries and thoughts can be shared.

By looking at experiences from our childhood and how they impact us as adults, we can notice patterns in our behaviours and gain control over them to help us feel more comfortable as we are today. I will be alongside you to support you on your journey, together we can start to make sense of what is going on for you in the here and now.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
