About me

I truly believe that most of us need someone to listen and walk beside us when we’re in times of need. I genuinely care about helping you to navigate your way around whatever is causing you upset or distress. You are the expert of you, and I’ll be there to help you on your way.

I have always been invested in people and following a career in education I retrained to become a counsellor, which I always felt was my true calling. Qualified with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and having completed courses in other modalities, I offer an integrated approach to your issues and concerns. This means I have a toolbox to draw from in order to find the kind of therapy that works for you.

I believe everyone is different. This is why I offer an integrated approach to counselling, drawing from different models of working. Through our work exploring your issues we will find what works for you.

I will provide a safe space, both literally and figuratively, for you to explore your issues, thoughts, emotions and behaviours that are causing you to seek counselling. Through our sessions I will listen, and we can talk and reflect on your concerns, empowering you to find your way to your happier self.

You can expect a warm and approachable counsellor. After your initial enquiry we will arrange a suitable time for a free 15 minute chat to gain a little more information on how I will be able to help you. In your first session we will go through the counselling contract, then get into the counselling work itself.

I am an accredited registrant of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) and a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also registered with the I.C.O, and am fully insured.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
