About me

My name is Louise. I am a fully qualified, registered, accredited and experienced counsellor. I have a compassionate and personalised approach, and work at a pace to suit you. I firmly believe that the counselling relationship is central to the therapeutic process and the foundation for effective therapy.  I am committed to creating a non-judgemental, confidential, safe and supportive environment in which you are able to explore life’s challenges.

I have helped clients to explore many different issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, bereavement, trauma, ADHD, stress, family and relationship difficulties and many more.

I work in an integrative way which means that although the foundations of my approach are person centred, if appropriate I can draw on elements of different approaches to address your individual needs. I aim to support and empower you to explore your emotions, thoughts and behaviours fostering self-awareness and growth to promote healing and emotional well-being.

I understand how difficult it can be to make that initial contact and how important it is to find the right counsellor for you. I am happy for contact to be made in whichever way feels most comfortable for you. I offer a free 15 minute introductory call in which we can have a conversation about your needs and how I may be able to meet them.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

Integrative counselling offers a holistic approach to therapy by combining techniques from different therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to the individual needs of the client. Clients are encouraged to explore and understand different facets of themselves, leading to greater health awareness and empowerment.

Psychotherapy or Psychotherapeutic counselling is sometimes referred to as 'talking therapy', for the most part this involves talking about emotional difficulty with a trained counsellor.

I have a background in social work and extensive training in Counselling techniques, including Sand Tray Therapy. I worked for two different charities in Norwich for three years, providing compassionate, client centred care before setting up my private practice in Norwich and then Dereham. I regularly attend further training to ensure I continue my professional development.

I am an accredited member of the UKCP and PSA (Professional, standards authority), adhering to their professional and ethical standards.
