About me

Hi, I’m Lori, an integrative therapist with experience supporting adults through addiction, trauma, emotional distress, and the many challenges that life can bring.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially if you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time. Taking that first step isn’t always easy, but you don’t have to face life’s difficulties alone.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful therapy. Feeling safe, respected, and genuinely connected within the therapeutic space can create the foundation for healing, self-awareness, and lasting change. Building trust together is such an important part of the process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling.

  • Various CPD
  • Level3 counselling
  • Level 2 counselling
  • Intro into counselling.

At the core of my work is a person-centred approach, creating a compassionate, empathetic space where you can feel heard, accepted, and understood. I am trauma informed, I will go at your pace, I feel this is really important for the client. Alongside this, I integrate psychodynamic therapy, attachment work and mindfulness tailoring sessions to meet the unique needs of each individual client. I understand there is no “one size fits all”.

My experience, I worked in a homeless charity, which involved complex clients, mental health, homelessness complications, trauma, childhood/current abuse & active addictions. Before this my background is in addiction centres. Either detox units or rehabilitation. There I was doing group work with the clients as well as 1:1.

Alongside my professional experience, I have also walked my own personal journey of healing, growth, and self-discovery. Having navigated life’s challenges myself, I understand the courage it takes to reach out for support and create meaningful, lasting change. This lived experience allows me to work with empathy, authenticity, and genuine understanding, creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
