About me
I am Lisa and i am an integrative counsellor. My core approach is person centred with aspects of CBT and Psychodynamics tailored to my clients individual needs.
I also offer creative therapy, giving my clients access to emotion and sensory cards, pebbles, sand tray, arts and crafts to help express themselves when the words just won't come.
I also have many years experience working as a foster carer and working with social services. This has given me knowledge in working with childhood trauma, abuse, loss and grief and the long term scars and trauma our childhood can leave us with as adults.
If you have identified with any of the above or are going through, relationship issues or even if you are just on a journey of self discovery with that big "who am i" question, I would be happy to offer you a free 15 minute telephone consultation to explore more how counselling sessions could be the right choice for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a level 4 diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.
I have experience with Depression, Anxiety, self harm, bereavement, loss, PTSD, relationship work and much more.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
