About me
Hi, I'm Lisa and I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic counsellor and life coach. I have been working within mental and emotional health for over 10 years. I am a person-centred counsellor which means you are at the centre of any work that we do together. I have done various extra training, which enables me to add various tools and techniques from other modalities to my work.
How Counselling Can Help
Counselling can help you with your mental health, emotional wellbeing and support you to work and process difficult life events.
It also supports you with self-development and learning new ways of approaching situations that you find difficult. I work with you on coping strategies and self-care to help build up your resilience, which in turn supports you long term.
My Experience
My previous roles include lead counsellor where I managed the counselling service for a local charity and worked as a counsellor. I have also worked as a crisis café lead for another charity, where I ran a 'walk in' crisis service. I have experience working in a secondary school as a wellbeing and mental health support officer, supporting students with their emotional and mental health.
Sessions
I offer a 30 minute consultation either face to face, via zoom or over the phone. This gives you the opportunity to get a feel for how I work and the surroundings you will be in. During this appointment, I will complete an assessment to ensure that I am suitable to work with you.
Our first session will take place in my therapy room. We will complete our working agreement which outlines how I work, and what we can expect from each other. During this, we discuss confidentiality and the handling of your personal data. I will also discuss with you your expectations of counselling, how you want to work (in the therapy room, outdoors, a mixture of the two) and what you are hoping to achieve from counselling in more detail so that I can ensure that I working your personal outcomes. I offer short or long term counselling on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Eco Therapy
I am based in a beautiful country park. This gives me the opportunity to offer Ecotherapy. This is a form of counselling that takes place outside, either sitting in a quiet spot within the park or 'walking and talking'. This a great opportunity to embrace the outdoors or connect with nature whilst having your counselling. For some, it may also take the pressure off sitting face to face with their counsellor.
Life Coaching
I am also a qualified life coach which is a skill I can offer you in within our sessions together. Life coaching helps you to dig beneath the surface to understand your obstacles to your success and wellbeing. Life coaching is orientated towards the future and aids you to reach your full potential whether is professionally or personally.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
