About me
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step—especially if you’re used to coping on your own, or feel unsure about what you’ll find when you start to open things up.
You might be used to pushing things down, overthinking everything, or feeling stuck in patterns that don’t make sense—but are hard to shift. This could show up as intrusive thoughts, panic attacks, a strong sense of shame, difficulty sitting with emotions, or challenges in your relationships.
In our work together, we move at your pace. There’s no pressure to share everything straight away. My role is to offer a calm, steady space where you can begin to understand what’s going on for you, without judgement or expectation.
I draw on my training as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist to support you in making sense of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns—helping you feel less overwhelmed and more in control of your internal world.
Over time, this can mean feeling less afraid of your thoughts, more able to sit with emotions, and more confident in yourself and your relationships.
I work with adults and young people of all backgrounds and aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe to explore what you’re going through.
What Type of Counsellor am I?
Being a Pluralistic psychotherapist and hypnotherapist, means I work with all the therapy modalities and tailor therapy to you. I am not restricted in the techniques I can use in my client work. If you are coming to work on a specific goal, we can do that. If you need somewhere to offload and feel heard, I provide that space and time. If you don't know what you want to work on, but just feel lost, stuck, anxious or numb, we can explore this together to uncover what is going on for you. I am very much client led, so you are in charge of what is discussed in sessions. Some of the work I do requires some reflection or completing small tasks between sessions, this helps to enrich the work we do in the sessions, so you get the most out of them. I provide knowledge, techniques and tools to empower you.
Sometimes talking therapy is not enough on its own, so alongside this, I offer hypnotherapy. This enables me to work with the unconscious and can help clients to accept changes and adapt wired processes in the brain, that may not be possible in the conscious talking therapy state.
What to expect in your first session?
Sessions are relaxed and conversational. There is no pressure and the space is there to just talk. We can get to know to each other and see if we are the right fit. The first session is about information gathering for me, so I can understand what you need and want from therapy and how I can help you. But essentially its the first point for you to say what you are feeling.
How many sessions should I have?
There is no time limit on therapy with me. I offer short term and long term therapy, weekly or fortnightly sessions.
What can I help with?
I work with a wide range of mental health issues but I have a particular focus on intrusive thoughts and shame-driven anxiety, areas that can feel especially isolating and difficult to talk about. Many of the people I work with worry about what their thoughts mean about them, or feel caught in cycles of self-criticism and emotional overwhelm. This is something I work with regularly, and you won’t shock or concern me by bringing it into the room.
If you’re wondering whether therapy with me feels like the right fit, please get in touch. I’m happy to answer any questions or arrange a call to see how it feels. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you reach out.
