About me

Hello and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework, offering professional, confidential, and compassionate support.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply unsure where to turn, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can talk freely, be heard, and begin to explore what’s going on for you. From my office in central Chichester, just a short walk from the train and bus stations, I offer individual and couples therapy tailored to your pace and needs.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting. That’s why I aim to create a calm, non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

My approach is person-centred, grounded in the belief that we all have the inner strength to face life’s challenges, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. Together, we’ll work gently and collaboratively to help you reconnect with your inner resilience and move toward meaningful change.

Therapy is a unique journey, and I’m here to help you navigate yours with warmth, empathy, and respect.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience working with both individuals and couples across a wide range of issues, including:

  • Stress and anxiety (GAD, panic disorder, OCD)
  • Depression and low self-esteem

  • Bereavement, loss, and miscarriage
  • Abuse and trauma (including PTSD)
  • Postnatal depression (PND)
  • Work-related stress and burnout
  • Sexual issues and intimacy concerns

My background includes working and volunteering with charities and in educational settings, spanning secondary, further, and higher education. Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

"It felt like a huge step to acknowledge that I needed some support in dealing with my bereavements and the vulnerability I felt at that time. You were brilliant at putting me at ease and providing the right space for me to open up and start challenging the views I had of myself. "- Client Testimonial

"Before starting I was lost in life and didn’t know how to deal with my emotions and I just felt stuck. Lisa made me feel so welcome and I was able to navigate my emotions and what I wanted in life , she has such a kind welcoming presence and i felt comfortable to speak openly about everything. I am in such a happier place mentally after my sessions with Lisa I can’t thank you enough." - Client Testimonial

"You helped me to understand that it is ok to say I'm not ok and to be honest about how I feel. You enabled me to find some strategies I could use at moments of sadness and low self esteem. I'm getting better at noticing things about the way I respond and reflecting more to avoid sliding down to a darker place." - Client Testimonial

"I saw Lisa over the course of a few weeks at her quiet and very comfortable office in Chichester. She was very welcoming and soon put my mind at rest about seeing a counsellor. We had great chats about my situation and she asked searching questions that helped unlock my healing. Each session just flew by!!!" - Client Testimonial

"Just wanted to say thank you! It really helped me to have a space where I could just talk openly about whatever I needed to. Just being able to get everything out and feel truly heard made a big difference. I really appreciate your support and calm presence throughout all our sessions!" - Client Testimonial

"My anxiety running up to my first therapy session with Lisa was so bad I almost didn’t go to it!
I’m not sure I really said too much at the session, it’s always a bit unnerving speaking about how you are feeling but Lisa was very patient and at every session would always remind me to be kind to myself because I’d been through a lot. That’s why therapy is so helpful as just by talking to Lisa I started to understand my trauma and its affect and started getting myself & my life back on track, and me in a happier and less anxious place. It’s so important to feel comfortable and at ease with your therapist, so I would highly recommend Lisa." - Client Testimonial
