About me

Hi, I’m Linzi and I know that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing, or just intense at times, and it’s normal to want support. I want you to know that you have found a place where you can slow down, be heard, and feel understood.

Here, the focus is entirely on you what you’re feeling, what’s weighing on you, and what you want to explore. You don’t have to have it all figured out, and you don’t have to carry it alone.

Whether you’re navigating change, experiencing stress, anxiety, or low self-esteem or simply finding life more challenging than usual together we can begin to untangle your thoughts, make sense of your feelings, and find ways to move forward with greater clarity and calm.

Specialisms:

I specialise in supporting people with their relationship with themselves helping to build self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence. I also work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, and overwhelm, providing a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings and develop practical ways to feel more balanced and in control.

Get in touch:

After you get in touch, we can have an initial conversation to see if working together feels like the right fit for you this is free, and there’s no pressure. It's just a chance to talk and explore your options.

How I offer appointments

Following this, if you wish to take up an appointment, I work in the following ways. We will explore which suits you best together.

  • Face-to-face appointments out of a dedicated space at Exmouth Integrated Therapies, in Exmouth.
  • Walk and talk therapy in Exmouth along the beach. Walking can help reduce tension, increase energy, and make it easier to express thoughts and emotions.
  • Online counselling by video call using Teams. Some people prefer this as it's more accessible, involves less travel and is more flexible.
  • Telephone counselling which also provides flexibility and is more accessible for anyone wishing to access therapy from their home.
  • I also offer Single Session Therapy which is slightly different in that it's a focused single session (2 hours long) which is designed to explore one particular issue.

If you'd like to get in touch, please don't hesitate to email me and I'll get back to you within 24 hours.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications

I am a qualified and experienced therapist with a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am currently coming to the end of an advanced qualification in counselling practice.

I have a first Degree in Psychology

Diploma in Diversity, Cultural Competence, Race & Anti-Discrimination Practice. This was really important to me to help me deepen my understanding of different cultural experiences and perspectives. This training helps me ensure that every client feels seen, respected, and understood, regardless of their background. It supports me in providing inclusive, sensitive, and culturally aware counselling, so you can feel safe and fully supported in our work together.

Experience

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues and have worked both privately and through working with Employee Assistance Programmes.

This has given me experience of working with clients both in long-term therapy but also for short-term therapy. I have also trained in offering Single Session Therapy.

In addition, I've worked in the voluntary sector, specifically in the area of domestic abuse, with a focus on working with confidence, self-esteem and isolation. This has been for both male and female adults who are experiencing and living with the impact of domestic abuse in their lives.

Specialist training

As well as ongoing continuous professional development every year, I also have specialist training in:

  • Certificate Programme in Advanced Trauma, PTSD & Dissociation
  • Supporting male victims of domestic abuse
  • Counselling male survivors of sexual abuse
  • Creative approaches to therapy
  • Suicide awareness training
  • Clinical applications of Internal Family Systems

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
