About me

Hello and welcome. I offer tailored therapeutic support to help you navigate whatever you may be facing. Through counselling, we can focus on what is happening for you in the present and gently explore what may be holding you back from reaching your goals. I also offer psychotherapy for those who wish to take a longer-term approach, allowing space to explore deeper patterns, behaviours, and experiences that may be rooted in past trauma or life experiences.

My approach is holistic, recognising the connection between mind, body, and emotional wellbeing, and supporting healing in a way that feels right for you.

I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can feel truly heard and supported. I will walk alongside you on your journey of self-discovery, helping you to heal, grow, and feel more empowered.

I am interested in your unique story — the experiences you have lived, those you share, and those that may feel harder to put into words. Together, we can gently explore meaning through the language you use and the experiences that matter to you.

I also explore the wider systems in your life, including relationships and family history, to understand patterns, values, and beliefs that may be influencing you, often in ways outside of your awareness or control.

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and whether we’re a good fit to work together. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £55, with payment required in advance via BACS to secure your booking. I offer telephone and online video sessions, as well as face-to-face sessions in Wigan.

Training, qualifications & experience

I graduated from the University of Salford in 2022 with a BSc Hons Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have recently become an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) to ensure that I meet high standards as a competent, ethical, and independent therapist.

I have always worked in helping roles with people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. My counselling journey has been shaped by reflection and lived experience, guiding me to become an empathic, non-judgemental, person-centred counsellor who is passionate about supporting people to feel empowered and move towards more positive, fulfilling lives.

I also bring personal understanding to my work, having experienced my own challenges, including growing up in a working-class background and navigating divorce, loss, life transitions, and questions of identity.

I am trauma-informed and experienced in working with a wide range of concerns, including inner-child and attachment work, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), parts work, trauma and PTSD, anxiety and depression, bereavement, chronic pain, dissociation, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, substance use, workplace stress, relationship and family difficulties, domestic abuse, and parental challenges. I work inclusively and with cultural awareness, and I am Neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ affirming. My practice also draws on mindfulness, coping strategies, CBT-informed, solution-focused, and strengths-based approaches, always guided by your individual needs.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
