About me
Hello, I'm Leyla
Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, and finding someone you feel comfortable with is important. I aim to offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted, just as you are.
I am a qualified counsellor & Wellbeing Coach, offering counselling for women aged 16 and over.
I provide face-to-face counselling from my comfortable therapy room in the heart of Bodmin, conveniently located for people living across Mid Cornwall, including St Austell, Wadebridge, Lostwithiel, Liskeard and the surrounding areas. I also offer online and telephone counselling for clients anywhere in the UK.
Many of the women I work with come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted or disconnected from themselves. They are often the ones everyone else relies on, supporting family, caring for others, managing work and carrying life's responsibilities, while quietly struggling themselves.
You may be experiencing:
- Anxiety or constant worry
- Stress, overwhelm or burnout
- Low self-esteem or self-doubt
- Difficulty setting boundaries or saying no
- Relationship difficulties
- Grief and loss
- Major life changes or uncertainty
- The lasting effects of difficult childhood experiences or trauma
- Feeling stuck or no longer like yourself
I work in a trauma-informed, person-centred way, recognising that our past experiences can influence how we think, feel, relate to others and view ourselves. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you, exploring your experiences with compassion, curiosity and without judgement.
I believe counselling is about more than simply managing symptoms. It offers the opportunity to better understand yourself, develop emotional resilience, build healthier relationships and create meaningful, lasting change.
A gentle invitation
You don't have to wait until things feel unbearable before asking for support. If part of you feels that you need someone to talk to, that's reason enough to reach out.
Whether you're living with anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, low self-worth or the impact of past experiences, I offer a safe, confidential space where you can pause, reflect and reconnect with yourself.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory telephone or WhatsApp call, giving us the opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether we feel like the right fit to work together.
If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a complimentary 15 minute introductory call to help you determine whether counselling with me is the right fit for you. This brief conversation provides an opportunity to share what you’re looking for, ask any questions, and gain a sense of how I work before committing to full sessions.
If you decide to continue, our first full session will be an opportunity to explore your current situation, goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I’ll also explain how I work, discuss confidentiality, and answer any questions you may have.
The first full session is charged at my standard rate, and there’s no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you. My aim is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported from the very start of your counselling journey.
