About me
I am a BACP Registered therapist with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. I work as a Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapist, drawing on different therapeutic approaches and adapting our work to you as an individual, rather than following one fixed model.
I believe that having a space where you feel heard, understood and accepted can make a real difference. The relationship we build together is central to my work, offering an opportunity to explore your experiences, make sense of what may be troubling you and develop a greater understanding of yourself.
My aim is to offer a space where you can feel comfortable enough to be yourself, including the parts of your experience that may be difficult to share elsewhere.
How I work
I offer a warm, calm and supportive space where you can talk openly and explore whatever feels important to you. Having experienced therapy myself, I understand how significant it can be to feel comfortable with and able to trust your therapist.
I won't tell you what you should do or expect you to have all the answers. Instead, I'll work alongside you with curiosity, compassion and respect, helping you explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Where it feels helpful, I may gently challenge you or offer a different perspective to support reflection and change.
Before retraining as a psychotherapist, I spent many years working within the NHS and later in a family business, where I was a company director. These experiences gave me an understanding of the responsibilities that can come with work, the pressures of managing competing demands and the challenges of balancing the needs of others with your own. I recognise how easy it can be to carry responsibility for a long time without necessarily having much space to consider how it affects you.
My own life experiences have also shaped my understanding of the different roles and responsibilities we carry, and how easily we can become accustomed to putting the needs of others before our own. Whether through family, relationships or work, these responsibilities can influence how we see ourselves and how much space we feel able to give to our own needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy and am a BACP Registered therapist.
I have experience providing confidential counselling and psychotherapy to adults aged 18 and over, working with a range of personal difficulties and life experiences.
I have a particular interest in attachment and relational approaches, including how our early experiences can shape the ways we understand ourselves, manage difficult feelings and relate to others. I am interested in how these experiences may continue to influence us in adulthood, sometimes in ways we may not fully recognise.
Continued Professional Development
Alongside my four years of formal training, I have undertaken further professional development in the following areas:
- Counselling Young People: A Humanistic and Integrative Approach to Working with Young People (11–18)
- Autonomic Nervous System: The Somatisation of Distress and Medically Unexplained Symptoms
- Introducing the Paradigm of Energy Psychotherapy
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Counselling and Psychotherapy
There are times in life when things can feel difficult without always knowing exactly why. You may feel anxious, overwhelmed, low or stuck. Perhaps you've become so used to looking after everyone else that you've lost sight of what you need yourself. You may be experiencing difficulties in a relationship, navigating a significant life change or finding that experiences from your past continue to affect how you feel today.
Sometimes, there isn't one obvious reason for how you feel. You may simply sense that something isn't quite right, feel disconnected from yourself or find that life doesn't feel as fulfilling as you'd hoped.
We all develop ways of coping that help us manage our experiences and get through difficult times. Sometimes, however, these ways of coping no longer serve us as they once did. We may find ourselves repeating familiar patterns, struggling with our feelings or finding it difficult to understand what we really need.
Therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, make sense of your experiences and begin to see yourself and your circumstances differently. Together, we can explore what may be contributing to how you feel, with compassion rather than judgement, and consider what might help you move towards a way of living that feels more fulfilling and true to you.
You don't need to know exactly what you want to change or have the right words to explain how you feel. We can begin wherever you are.
Where and how I work
I offer online counselling and psychotherapy to adults across the UK, providing a space where you can explore your experiences from the comfort and privacy of your own surroundings.
Online therapy offers flexibility and convenience, making it easier to fit sessions around work, family commitments and other responsibilities. What matters most to me is the therapeutic relationship we build together, creating a space where you can feel heard, understood and able to explore what is important to you.
Face-to-face counselling may also be available in Peterborough, PE2, subject to availability.
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, depending on your individual needs and what feels most helpful for you.
First session
Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly if you haven't spoken to a therapist before or aren't quite sure what to expect.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin to explore whether working together feels right for you. I'll explain what you can expect from me, answer any questions you may have and talk with you about how we might work together.
We'll explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from our sessions. You don't need to have everything worked out beforehand, and there is no expectation to tell me everything in our first meeting.
We can take things at a pace that feels manageable for you. As our work develops, your needs and priorities may change, and we can adapt our sessions accordingly.
Above all, the first session is an opportunity for you to begin to feel at ease, ask questions and decide whether this is a space in which you feel able to explore what's going on for you.
