About me

Hello! I'm Lauren, a dedicated Humanistic & Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist specialising in working with adults and young individuals.

Within my private practice, I employ a person-centered and integrative approach, blending various therapeutic theories to tailor sessions to each individual. My specialisation revolves around building self-esteem, delving into inner dialogue, nurturing self-care, and connecting with the body to establish a sense of inner security. Drawing from Jungian theory, I delve into the realms of the unconscious mind, dreams, and spirituality to offer a holistic healing experience.

I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can authentically express yourself and explore your inner world creatively.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a fully qualified, insured, DBS checked, clinically supervised and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I ensure the highest standards of professionalism and care in my practice.

I began my counselling degree in 2020, during the pandemic after realising the importance of human connection and witnessing the impact without it. For the past two years, I have passionately focused on providing counselling, support and assessing individuals impacted by sexual violence. My expertise lies in trauma stabilisation and general stress management, having worked extensively with clients facing PTSD symptoms, mental health struggles, self-harm & suicidal ideation and dissociative disorders.

Qualifications

  • FDA in Counselling (BACP accredited course)
  • Certificate in Working in Sexual Violence Settings (Agored Cymru)
  • Certificate in Trauma Informed Practice
  • Certificate in self-harm & suicide awareness
  • Certificate in mental health awareness
  • Certificate in working with male survivors of sexual violence

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
