About me
If you are reading this then it is likely that you are struggling in some way. Feelings of anxiety, worry, constant overthinking; leading to overwhelm and depression can feel extremely challenging and lonely. You may be struggling with relationships or consumed with worries about the future or be constantly triggered by the past. Maybe you have low self esteem or feel overwhelmed and that no one understands you. Life can be challenging and taking that first step towards counselling can be quite daunting at first; you may not know where to begin or feel worried about opening up. You are not alone and I can offer you a safe, supportive and accepting environment without judgement where I can sincerely listen to you; allowing you to explore your feelings and thoughts at your own pace.
Together we can work through your experiences and create a safe space where you can talk openly and be heard and understood.
I truly believe that every client has within themselves vast resources for development and the capacity to grow into the person they are meant to be, its just that they may have got lost due to their experiences; maybe difficult relationships, trauma, not feeling understood or illness. I have witnessed the incredible effects that clients have experienced in therapy, finding the resources to make positive changes and enjoy life again. My priority is to build a trusting relationship with confidentiality, understanding, warmth and empathy.
I am an integrative counsellor working creatively, using different techniques to work with each client individually. I do not believe one size fits all. I aim to be empathic, understanding, warm and personable and very much want the best outcome for each client I work with.
I work with a wide range of clients and have helped clients of all ages from all backgrounds with a variety of issues including depression, relationship problems, general anxiety disorder, chronic pain, fibromyalgia/ME, self-harm, health anxiety, weight problems, acute anxiety and panic attacks, insomnia, mid-life crises, work related stress and grief.
I have particular interests and expertise in ADHD and ASD along with the overlapping conditions such as high sensitivity, emotional dysregulation, sensory processing and anxiety/social anxiety. I understand the difficulties and challenges of these conditions and know how frustrating, overwhelming and upsetting the lack of understanding and support can be. I can help you understand your diagnosis and can help with self-regulation techniques, organisational strategies or just be a listening and understanding ear. I can help you to understand that brain you have and how to work with it, instead of feeling like you’re always against it. I also offer support to parents of neurodiverse children.
I am also very keen to support women who are struggling to balance life and are feeling exhausted, burnt out and feel they are not being heard; I am here to listen.
I offer face to face sessions in the North West and online sessions for clients across the UK. I work flexibly with client needs and budget, offering sessions weekly, fortnightly, monthly or as and when needed.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
