Supervision details
I think many therapists come to supervision unsure of what it is meant to be, or feeling that it is something they have to do rather than something they want to do.
I feel supervision should be a meaningful, enjoyable and restorative part of our professional life- for learning, insight, reassurance, and renewed confidence.
Exploring your client work with care and ethical integrity, while also making space for your emotional responses, uncertainties, strengths, and development. I aim to create a nurturing atmosphere grounded in validation and curiosity, allowing space for reflection, introspection, and deeper meaning.
Sessions focus on learning, growth, and genuine professional support, I don’t want you to feel like it’s just box-ticking.
I work in a trauma and neurodiversity-informed way. I welcome both neurotypical and neurodivergent therapists, while also supporting practitioners who work with autistic, highly sensitive, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent clients. We can explore difference, communication styles, sensory needs, masking, identity, and systemic barriers within a safe and respectful space.
Our supervision relationship should feel collaborative and flexible, rooted in mutual trust, respect, and integrity. I prioritise creating a space that is safe, ethical, and professionally competent, where safeguarding and standards are held alongside compassion and understanding in order to maximize outcomes for your clients.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
