About me

Hi, I’m Laura. Thank you for taking time to look at my profile

I’m a humanistic, integrative counsellor, and I work with individuals and couples, face to face or online.

My top priority is for you to better understand your thoughts and feelings and live a happier, more fulfilling life. I will ensure we work with the best tools available so you get the most out of your therapy journey.

The most important part to any therapeutic working relationship is to create and build a trusting and equal relationship between myself and my client. From building this foundation, I have experienced clients feel safe, they feel able to voice their thoughts and feelings that they may have not been able to say to others and at times, even to themselves. If this sounds familiar to you, counselling help’s by offering a space solely dedicated for you to speak freely to an impartial person and helping to gain an understanding of the ‘why’ behind everything.

I work with clients who bring a range of issues; including trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, abuse low self esteem and neurodiversity.

Having completed further training in trauma-informed care, I am committed to providing a safe and effective therapeutic space. I believe in working at your pace, prioritising your safety, and ensuring we avoid re-traumatisation as we process trauma together.

A large proportion of my work is working with individuals experiencing anxiety and the stressors which accompany this. By identifying these thoughts, feelings or actions enables us to develop the practical skills to break the anxiety cycles.

Working with neurodiverse individuals living with conditions such as ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism  weather these are diagnosed, un diagnosed or awaiting assessment, you can be assured I offer a safe inclusive space to explore your experience and feeling's, helping you to understand and embrace the neurodiverse brain.

Are you a parent of a neurodivergent child? Do you struggle with navigating the emotionally complex journey that often leads to
compassion fatigue, burnout, and extreme exhaustion. I can help you unpack emotional overload, grief, and trauma, a dedicated therapeutic space offering a chance to focus entirely on your own mental well-being.

We can identify key strategies including, practicing self-care through embracing support, redefining rest, and practicing self-compassion.

Couples Therapy

Relationship issues are one of the most common causes of emotional distress – and often the reason people seek help. Working with myself, we can explore and achieve a solid understanding of why difficulties have arisen, and how we can navigate this together.

As a couple, you can enter a neutral space to tackle relationship challenges and build a stronger connection. When communication gets tough or you feel stuck in old patterns, we create a space where you both have time to feel heard and understood, learning how to discuss your issues calmly and constructively, helping you feel happy and connected again.

I offer a free initial meeting, these usually last around 15 minutes. This will take place either over the phone or online and gives us the opportunity to get to know each other a little and discuss your needs and most importantly to ensure you feel I'm the right therapist for you
