About me

Anxiety can be overwhelming. Relationships can be complex and difficult. It can feel like meaningful change and relief from your difficulties is impossible.  My experience has made me a passionate believer that therapy can be life changing in a positive way.

Counselling gives you space to talk through your experiences, recognise patterns and untangle the conflicting/painful thoughts in your mind,  discover which strands still serve you and which can be let go of. I offer a supportive, warm and confidential space to navigate this, either short-term or open ended sessions are available. An opportunity to be heard, work through what’s going on for you, and get to know yourself better.

Whether your feelings of anxiety, depression, overwhelm,  low self-esteem are the result of a recent situation or feels like it's been like this forever, counselling offers a unique opportunity to slow down normally unconscious thought patterns and understand how you feel. Some areas where people need support include:

Anxiety

The therapy room is a calm and supportive space to understand and manage anxiety, whether it shows up as constant worry, racing thoughts, physical tension, or a sense of overwhelm. Together, we can explore what may be driving these feelings and how anxiety is affecting your daily life, relationships, and sense of wellbeing. Therapy also provides practical tools to help regulate your nervous system, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build a greater sense of safety and control. By developing awareness and self-compassion, you can learn to respond to anxiety in a more balanced way, helping you feel more grounded, confident, and able to navigate life’s challenges.

Self-esteem

Counselling can play a powerful role in building and restoring self-esteem by offering a safe, non-judgmental space to explore thoughts, feelings, and past experiences. Through this process, individuals can begin to understand the roots of their self-doubt, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop a more compassionate and balanced view of themselves.

Family/Relationship difficulties

Whether navigating in the family where you grew up, the family you are raising or friendships, I offer a safe and supportive space to explore relationship difficulties. These may involve communication challenges, conflict, trust issues, or patterns that feel hard to break. We can gently unpack the underlying feelings and experiences that shape how you connect with others, helping you gain clarity and insight into your relationships. Therapy also offers practical tools to improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and navigate disagreements more effectively. By deepening your understanding of yourself and your relational patterns, you can build more fulfilling, balanced, and authentic connections with others.

Menopause

Therapy can offer a compassionate and informed space to navigate the emotional and psychological impact of menopause. This stage of life can bring a range of changes, including shifts in mood, identity, relationships, and overall wellbeing. Together, we can explore how these changes are affecting you and your relationships, while developing practical strategies to manage symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties, or increased stress. Therapy also provides an opportunity to reconnect with your sense of self, process this transition, and build resilience and self-compassion. With the right support, menopause can become a time of reflection, growth, and renewed balance.

Bullying

In a safe, non-judgmental space, you can process the impact of bullying, whether it is happening now or is rooted in past experiences. Being bullied can affect your confidence, self-worth, and sense of safety in the world, often leaving lasting emotional wounds. Together, we can explore how these experiences have shaped your thoughts, feelings, and relationships, while gently rebuilding a stronger sense of self. Therapy also offers practical tools to set boundaries, respond to difficult situations, and develop resilience. With support, it is possible to regain confidence, strengthen self-esteem, and move forward with a greater sense of empowerment and security.

Perfectionism

Through the therapeutic relationship, you understand and soften the pressures of perfectionism, especially when high standards begin to feel overwhelming or self-critical. While striving for excellence can be a strength, perfectionism often comes with fear of failure, difficulty relaxing, and a persistent sense of “not being good enough.” In therapy, we can explore the underlying beliefs and experiences that drive these patterns, and develop more compassionate, balanced ways of thinking and relating to yourself. Together, we’ll build practical strategies to reduce self-criticism, manage anxiety, and create space for flexibility, creativity, and self-acceptance. Over time, this can help you feel more at ease, confident, and able to engage with life in a way that feels both meaningful and sustainable.

Work stress

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, burned out, stuck in perfectionism, or struggling with difficult workplace dynamics, therapy offers a supportive environment to better understand these experiences and develop healthier ways of coping. Together, we can identify patterns that contribute to stress, build practical tools for setting boundaries, improving communication, and restoring balance, and reconnect you with a sense of purpose and resilience. By addressing both the emotional and practical aspects of work stress, therapy can help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your professional life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm an integrative counsellor with an L4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have a wide range of personal and professional experience. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is a key factor for positive outcomes. On top of this, I draw from aspects of person-centred, psycho-dynamic, CBT and attachment theories, as well are various creative therapies such a sand-tray or buttons, based on the individual work.

I also consistently develop my skills through additional reading, training and research to ensure I maintain a safe and ethical practice.  Subjects such as safeguarding, attachment, DMM model of attachment, shame and narcissism.

Currently I'm learning more about ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) which can be helpful in breaking unhelpful behaviour patterns.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
