About me

Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. I provide a non-judgemental, safe, and supportive environment that is client centred, which means that we work collaboratively in a way that works for you.

I am trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor; therefore, my background incorporates psychodynamic, person-centred, gestalt, TA (Transactional Analysis) & Existential Psychotherapy. I am also more than happy to elaborate on these terms, as it's important you find the right fit for you.

Essentially, I am a warm, down-to-earth and compassionate person, as I provide a relaxed atmosphere whilst remaining professional and fully dedicated to our work together.

I am a fully qualified member of the BACP, with over ten years of experience working with adults, children and young people within the mental health, charity and non-profit sector.

I have also had many years of my own personal, in-depth psychotherapy with a qualified TA/Gestalt practitioner, which has given me a greater understanding as to the benefits of therapy, the importance of the therapeutic relationship and the benefits of gaining greater self-awareness, curiosity and ultimately, compassion.

My area of specialism has been, although not limited to, working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent adults and those from marginalised backgrounds. I also work with those who have experienced developmental trauma, emotional neglect and abuse.

What I offer:

I offer a free 15-minute initial telephone consultationhowever, other methods can be discussed if you are not comfortable with speaking over the phone.

This provides an opportunity to have an informal chat to see what has brought you to therapy, how we might work together, if we are a suitable fit for one another and, if not, what alternative services might be better tailored to your needs.

Face-to-face sessions in South Manchester (Chorlton & Stockport, SK5) are available, as well as telephone and online sessions (Microsoft Teams or Whatsapp Video)  – whichever suit you best.

I specialise in open ended/long-term work, although I also offer shorter term, depending on your goals and what you are wanting from counselling and psychotherapy.

I currently have a short waiting list for new clients.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications

Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision, Manchester Institute For Psychotherapy, 2026.

MBACPLevel 7, Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (with Distinction) University of Central Lancashire. 2022.

BA (Hons) Degree, English & Cultural Studies. MMU, 2008.

I work as a trauma-informed practitioner, as I believe it is not what is 'wrong' with you but what happened to you (Power Threat Meaning Framework), and how you can find your way back to yourself through the therapeutic relationship.

It is also a space to celebrate your strengths and gain some perspective, as committing to counselling can often be the most challenging yet empowering step forward.

I am LGBTQIA+ & GSRD (gender, sexual and relationship diversity) informed and offer affirmative, anti-oppressive and explorative therapy, as I understand some of the additional stressors that come with being part of a minority group, whilst appreciating that we all have our own personal experiences and intersections.

I specialise in neurodivergent-affirmative, exploratory therapy, and endeavour to make necessary adjustments to our sessions and communication, if required.

I am mindful of my unconscious bias and privilege and therefore strive to be an ethical and culturally competent practitioner, by attending monthly supervision with a qualified UKCP Supervisor, educating myself through CPPD (continual personal & professional development) and challenging instilled beliefs, open-mindedly.

Other egs of training & certification include, but are not limited to:

  • Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist (Intensive training).
  • Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) with autistic clients.
  • Janina Fisher's Shame Certification Course.
  • Changing the ADHD brain: beyond medication.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My previous role as an Older Person's Domestic Abuse Practitioner means that I have an insight into some of the additional needs of clients within this age range, and how access to counselling and other services can be culturally and socioeconomically restrictive.

I have worked as a Mental Health Recovery Practitioner and an Outreach worker, working alongside individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse and supported them to take back control of their lives, through a supportive, creative and empathetic relationship. Such communities include unhoused individuals, those who have been through the criminal justice system and active sex workers.

Additionally, I have worked as a Residential Support Worker, working alongside young neurodivergent people, who had a range of additional support needs, where I received in-depth training.

For an extensive list of my CPD, experience, training and/or qualifications, please do not hesitate to ask.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I am happy to discuss your accessibility needs and how we can ensure that you have access to therapy that works for you. Support dogs are welcomed at my SK5 practice.
