About me

Are you feeling anxious or overwhelmed?
I specialise in helping parents reconnect with themselves and rediscover a sense of calm and joy in their lives.

At Reconnect Counselling, I offer tailored counselling and psychotherapy services to individuals and couples. Whether you're navigating parenthood, struggling with anxiety or depression, facing relationship issues, or coping with the loss of a miscarriage, I’m here to support you. Together, we can explore your thoughts and emotions, helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that you may feel have been lost. My approach is grounded in compassion, empowerment, and a belief that change is possible.

I have a particular focus on supporting parents, especially those raising children with disabilities. With over 17 years of experience working alongside children with autism and their families, I bring a deep understanding and empathy to our sessions. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and understood as we navigate the unique challenges of parenting a child with special needs.

Counselling and psychotherapy are powerful tools for growth, providing a confidential and respectful space for meaningful conversations between client and therapist.

I offer both in-person sessions at my office in Portobello, as well as "walk and talk" sessions along the beach in Portobello. For those who prefer or require remote options, I also offer online sessions via Google Meet or phone. It's important that we find a setting that feels right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
