About me
I am a naturally curious and compassionate individual with a genuine passion for supporting others on their journey towards improving their emotional and mental wellbeing. I enjoy continuous learning - not only about the world around me, but also about myself and the unique experiences of each client I work with.
My primary area of expertise is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside an integrative approach that allows me to tailor therapy to each client's individual needs. I draw on a range of evidence-based techniques that best supports each client's goals and maximises therapeutic outcomes.
My aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we will develop practical tools and strategies that you can confidently incorporate into your everyday life, improving your mental wellbeing, with the aim of creating lasting positive change.
Training, qualifications & experience
With over a decade of experience in the Education sector, I have had the privilege of working with vulnerable young people, many of whom faced challenges related to their mental health. During this time, I helped them access counselling services and witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that therapy can have on their lives.
While I found deep fulfilment in my previous role, I recognised that broadening my skill set would enable me to support an even wider range of individuals. I am excited to apply my knowledge and tools in collaboration with my clients, guiding them as they work toward their therapeutic goals. It is truly rewarding for me to be a part of their journey toward healing and growth.
I hold a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am a Registered Practitioner Member with BACP and I am also PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Registered with Disclosure Scotland.
To ensure I continue to develop and enhance my professional practice, I regularly engage in supervision.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
