About me
I provide short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy for adolescents aged 12 and over, adults, and couples. Working with these different groups allows me to respond to the unique needs of each stage and situation, from developmental challenges in adolescence to relationship and emotional patterns in adulthood.
With adolescents, I help young people build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and navigate the pressures of school, friendships, and identity development. For adults and couples, therapy often involves deeper reflection on recurring emotional patterns, communication styles, and relational dynamics to support lasting personal and relational growth.
I draw on a range of Humanistic approaches, including person-centred therapy, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt, alongside psychodynamic thinking to explore unconscious patterns. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques where practical tools are helpful. Together, we tailor the combination of approaches to best support your growth, well-being, and relationships.
I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions. My client-centred approach ensures that your goals guide our work, with sessions adapted to your needs and pace. Short-term counselling can be particularly helpful for specific concerns such as anxiety, stress, low mood, or relationship difficulties. Longer-term psychotherapy provides space to explore deeper emotional patterns, work through unresolved issues, and develop greater self-understanding and resilience.
In addition to providing therapy, I offer clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists. I have experience supervising professionals working with both children and young people as well as adults, including qualified counsellors and trainees. My supervision focuses on supporting reflective practice, professional development, and safe, ethical practice.
The first session is a chance to discuss what has brought you to therapy and to consider how we might work together. We look at your priorities and what you hope to achieve, and agree on a plan that feels right for you. After a few sessions, we usually review progress, allowing us to adjust the approach and decide whether short-term, open-ended, or longer-term therapy is most suitable.
If I cannot help, I shall do my best to refer you to a trusted therapist within my own practice. If this is not possible, I’ll always try to offer an outside recommendation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked across a range of settings, including private practice, education, and health and wellbeing services, supporting both young people and adults with a wide variety of emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges. My experience includes working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, addiction, and recovery.
In private practice, I have worked with adults, young people aged 12 and over, and couples, providing a confidential and supportive space where clients could explore personal and relational challenges, develop coping strategies, and work towards meaningful change. This experience has given me insight into complex emotional patterns and reinforced the importance of client-led, tailored therapy.
I have also worked in schools, supporting students, staff, and families to create safe, nurturing environments that promote emotional growth. My experience in addiction recovery services has involved guiding individuals through complex personal journeys, helping them build resilience and develop strategies for lasting change.
Alongside this, I have experience in clinical supervision, supporting counsellors and psychotherapists working with children, young people, adults, and trainees. This work has involved fostering reflective practice, professional development, and ethical, safe practice.
Grounded in client-centred and integrative approaches, my experience has included applying Humanistic principles alongside psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural approaches to support emotional development, self-understanding, and personal growth. I have also worked with safeguarding, crisis intervention, and long-term support, which has informed the structured, compassionate approach I bring to my practice.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
